There’s a timelessness to much of the jewellery collections that we have curated and champion at Last Night I Dreamt. Fad jewellery trends come and go and so as a team we keep a watchful eye on the key trends coming from the SS20 runways and hopefully present you with a filtered edit of pieces that are wearable and worth investing in. So here is our 2020 trend alerts of the key things you can expect to see in the world of jewellery, what you should be dusting off from the bottom of your jewellery box and where you can make an investment!
The Brooch makes a comeback
Rebecca has always been a lover of a brooch or two and can’t wait to get her Mum’s Wedgewood cameo out again! At Christmas, we sold this beauty by Alex Monroe which will come back in stock in the next few weeks. The brooch trend comes and goes and we’ve seen it all before but it’s worth considering investing in one as a keepsake.
The Oversized hoops
There’s always room for hoops in your jewellery box but this year hoops have gone HUGEEEEEE!!!!!! Certainly not for the faint hearted and those who like subtlety but for the gals who wish to make a statement this trend is for you! Shop our Rachel Jackson or Dinny Hall mega hoops to up your ear game and be bang on trend.
Colour me Beautiful
A trend we think is set to be big news and we are ON IT is colour. There was allot of colourful gemstone creations on the SS20 runways. We’ll be introducing these handmade delights by our latest Columbian brand Mishky in a few months. Rebecca will be wearing these all summer. Definitely shop this trend!!
We never tire of the classic pearl but we’re also good at pearls with a twist which is exactly what we saw on the catwalk. Shop our Becca Jewellery collection and be a the Pearly Queen of 2020. If you want to carry the trend one step further, wear one earring on its own. This is super kooky and for those wishing to emulate the catwalk. We’re not sure the one earring thing will have much longevity mind you but certainly give it a go!!!
The Chunky Chain Choker
Another key trend carrying over from 2019 into 2020 is the chunky chain choker which dominated the catwalk. Our favourite showstopper choker that is sure to make a statement is handmade by Phine Jewellery and Last Night I Dreamt’s key investment piece. Invest in this one piece and you're guaranteed to wear it for many years to come.
The Statement necklace
Anything goes really. Necklaces of any lengths and size. There are no real rules but one 2020 trend that we picked up was the statement gold & bold necklace. Our favourite pick that will have you 2020 jewellery ready...
