Specialist jewellery is needed for your piercing. This is to ensure the piece is sterile and comfortable. We will not pierce with any other jewellery than our own. The jewellery you choose is additional in cost to the appointment price. We have a range of piercing jewellery designs available which starts from around £29 for a pair of earrings and £15 for a single earring.

No, only one person per appointment booked is allowed. This is due to heath and safety regulations and there are no exceptions to this.

Each appointment booked with us is for one person only. You may have one person accompany you if needed, although ideally your appointment is just for you. The exception to this rule is for children, for whom someone with parental responsibility is required to be present.

Your appointment will be for 20/30 minutes depending on the appointment type. This time slot does not include time to browse for your jewellery, so make sure you arrive around 15 minutes early to leave enough time to choose your piercing jewellery.

We are very lucky at Last Night I Dreamt to have our in-house piercing specialist, Sasha. You are in the safest of hands with Sasha who before joining us worked in a well known Nottingham piercing studio. Sasha is a piercing enthusiast and can help you curate the perfect pierced ear.

The aftercare of your piercing is very important as new piercings can become infected if not cared for correctly. We recommend prioritising your aftercare within your usual daily routine to ensure the best results. Healing time for piercings will vary depending on the person, but as long as you carry out the instructions on our aftercare cards and use our aftercare pack that you will receive at your appointment, it is unlikely that you will have problems with your piercing.

Take a look at our full aftercare guide here.

You may initially have some swelling, bruising and bleeding in the area you have had pierced. This area may also feel hot and look red. This will subside.

For a while after and during the healing process you may experience the following:

  • Itching
  • Discolouration
  • A white fluid that crusts around your jewellery

The care of your piercing is your responsibility and so long as you follow the guidance offered on our aftercare card your piercing should heal well. If you do experience any infections or issues of concern please contact us or your GP. We advise that you do not remove any jewellery from the area in these cases until they have been assessed by us or your GP. This is to prevent further infection within the piercing wound.

This depends on the area you have had the piercing. Lobes typically take around 8 weeks to heal, whilst cartilage can usually take up to 1 year to fully heal. We recommend waiting until your piercing has fully healed before attempting to change the jewellery as this can lead to pain and infection.

Initially your piercing may be painful and a cartilage piercing can take up to one year to fully heal. During this healing period you may experience times where the piercing is uncomfortable. During these times we recommend always keeping the jewellery in place. Removing it can lead to infection. Use the aftercare solution provided at your appointment for as long as the piercing requires it. This routine us useful to remember if your piercing becomes irritated even after the healing period.

This entirely depends on the person and the area of scar tissue. Please contact us if you have this issue and we can assess the area for you.

No, due to health and safety and ensuring the piercing jewellery is adequately sterilised, we will only pierce with our own jewellery.

Yes, although we do recommend a stud for initial piercings. This helps to prevent infection and the piercing from being caught. If you would really like a hoop we do offer a solid gold option.

No, we welcome anyone to have their ears pierced with us and have a range of jewellery to suit all tastes.
