Never has there been a year to celebrate a day more than Mother’s Day 2021. I look back to Mother’s Day 2020, the day after which we closed for Lockdown 1.0 and what a year it’s been! We need to make the most of these special days and embrace the chance to make our loved ones feel treasured, remember precious lives that have been and put a spotlight on the ones who support us and love us.
Far from being a day where we celebrate perfect mum life, Mother’s Day should be a day of coming together and acknowledging how tough being a Mum can be. I love being a mum but the juggle of work and mum life is real and there are many times I drop the balls! My own mum who I adore struggled at times with the stress of raising us but it didn’t make mine or my sister’s love less for her. This year has been tough for so many mum’s who care to admit it. This Mother’s Day we celebrate the real Mum’s, the highs and the lows of Mum life, the moments we feel we’ve won and the moments when we feel like the worst mum in the world. Because let me tell you this…you are enough and you rock at this Mum life so let’s celebrate the rough with the smooth and the life of those that selflessly love each day.
