PIERCING AFTERCARE
So you've got freshly pierced Last Night I Dreamt ears. But here's the thing, you really need to look after a new piercing as a freshly pierced ear is open to infection until it's healed and some piercings may be rejected by the body. Everyone is different and the healing time will vary depending on your age, health status, general diet, lifestyle and how you care for the piercing itself. Please be aware the healing time can take longer if you have a poor diet or a compromised immune system. We want to help you look after your new piercing so please follow our simple guide below to help your freshly pierced ears heal quickly and without problems!
CLEAN YOUR PIERCING
Use our saline solution twice a day. This can be found in our piercing aftercare bag of goodies. If you run out you can always purchase some more from our sparkly website. We recommend using gauze or kitchen roll to clean your piercings. Do NOT use cotton wool or cotton buds to clean the area. Residue gets stuck in the piercing and can make matters worse. Not cleaning your freshly pierced ears may result in infection.
TRY TO NOT SLEEP ON IT
Try not to sleep on your new piercing but if you're finding it tricky not to sleep on your piercing side, use a travel pillow!
TRY NOT TO TOUCH
Don't touch your new piercing unless you are cleaning it. ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS before touching your piercing or cleaning the site. Touching your piercing with unwashed hands can result in infection. Never twist the bar in the ear while the piercing is healing but let the piercing do its thing and heal by itself alongside being ultra careful and cleaning twice daily!
WAIT FOR YOUR PIERCING TO HEAL
Wait for your piercing to heal before changing your earrings. Once healed we offer a complimentary piercing change service.
DO NOT
Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours after a fresh piercing. No swimming! Also avoid alternative chemicals/ointments/alcohol other than the saline solution provided by us.
